I had a lovely birthday this year. It lasted for two weeks - as birthdays should. My treasured friends, Alison and Brooke took me out to dinner. I'll never forget those scrummy little salted bread rolls. Both ladies are pregnant, so I understand that they may have preferred to be at home resting! I can't wait to snuggle with their babies.
Then my oldest brother flew down from Sydney, my parents came up from Inverloch, and my other brother and his wife managed to find someone to babysit their three kids (!). We all went out for a very orderly, adult dinner. It was lovely to have my whole family in my new home. And, to see them again at the breakfast table.
(Brooke and I - due July)
(Alison and I - due September. Alison even made me cupcakes with yellow icing and placed them on my desk at work - too kind.)
This year I was showered in gifts. I usually find the older I get the less gifts I get, and the less exciting my birthdays get. Since having my own little family, I've thought more about the celebration of birthdays. It's so important to celebrate them and to also make others feel special on their birth - day. I'm so grateful for all of my friends and family that made this time special for me. xo
