Festive Season

This weekend we purchased our fresh pine smelling Christmas tree and spent a hot afternoon decorating it.  Christmas feels so different this year.  Amaya is very aware of its significance and the joys it will bring her - in particular.

There are simply some days where everything must be done in a fairy dress.  The beginning of the decoration process.  The blue advent calendar to the left is a handmade gift from my mum to Amaya.  Each day is filled with a little surprise.  It has being a little challenging teaching Amaya the concept of only taking one present each day, but she is getting there.

The tree is nearly there and Amaya is getting very excited.  She loved going through the box of Christmas tree ornaments, and of course adding her own that she made at Bunnings (Santa to the right of the picture).

Just had to add this photograph in for a laugh.  She never ceases to amuse me with her many camera poses.

And of course Christmas carols had to be sung at the loudest possible voice, in particular, 'Jingle Bells'.  I think she'll be door knocking in a couple of years!

The end product - presents and all.  There are lights on the tree, but the natural light was too bright.  It's Amaya's job every night to put on these 'magic lights' - as she calls them.  (Note the sad face ... Luke wanted one photograph without Amaya in it, and she wasn't happy with this outcome - too funny once again.  Girls ... such drama queens.)

PS I know I'm fudging the blog dates, but I must really do four blogs a month, otherwise it would screw with my head too much - enough said about me!
