Mothers Day

This year Mothers Day was spent at the Melbourne zoo, much like thousands of other mothers.  The zoo was absolutely packed.  For the first half of the zoo I think I only saw three animals.  I spent most of my time counting the children to make sure we had them all.  I mentioned many times that I felt like I was on a school excursion with some adults at the front, middle and end in order to account for all children.

It wasn't until we got to the Australian animal end of the zoo that we got some relief and the children were clearly visible.  I guessed at the time that people weren't too interested in seeing the Australian animals because they could easily see them in their backyard, down the road, or a couple of suburbs on.

I even got the opportunity to spend the day at the zoo with my own mother because they made the trip up from their new abode.  I gave my mother an interesting little gift I had come across in my new favourite bookshop in my new suburb.  The present is a book whereby it asks my mum a series of questions about her life and her feelings towards certain events in her life.  It could take a whole year to fill out.  But knowing my mother, it will be a project that she'll work on to perfection.  It'll be a piece of work when it's complete - and I can't wait.  The book will be a safe-keep.
