Sometimes I don't know what goes on with blogger. The photograph below is not the first photograph I wanted you to see in response to my title, 'Summer Lovin' - Part I'. Nonetheless, I will start this post with a discussion of this sorry photograph.
Amaya suffers from eczema, in particular, under her arms. All of the grandchildren (4) on Luke's side of the family have eczema. All to a different degree and all in different places on the body. Luke and I are pretty sure that Amaya's eczema is not linked to diet. We believe it is linked to heat. There have been many consecutive hot days this summer (just look at this week - 4 x 40 degree days!) and her little body overheats and the eczema becomes infected.
Luke and I took Amaya to the hospital, which I will not name because of the number of expletives I would attach with it. After hours of waiting we decided to see a doctor at a private clinic the following day. Amaya was medicated with antibiotics and the infection slowly disappeared.
Amaya's eczema is a constant challenge for her poor little body, and for her parents. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it. I'm more than willing to try any natural products.
On to more happy news regarding our summer. I start work this week and I have to admit that I'm going to miss Amaya terribly. I have come to realise that I'm not a fan of the baby stage. I love that Amaya can now walk, talk, and is involved in all matters in our daily life. It's amazing how much they grow in 18 months.
So, I thought before I return to work I would spend some time looking over all the fun times we had together as a family. And there was so much fun that 'Summer Lovin'' comes in two parts.
We visited a market at Inverloch and Amaya bought herself some funky shorts.
Dad, Luke and I played a round of golf on a par 3 course.
We fed bread to the ducks at Birds Land. Amaya doesn't yet understand the concept of feeding the ducks, rather she feeds herself.
I realised how much my daughter loves 'High-5' when we have quiet time on the hot afternoons.
And more feeding of the ducks.
