A couple of times this week, I had the girls on my own. I was unsure how I would go, especially if they both started crying at the same time. They are both as unpredictable as each other - for various reasons. Fortunately, all went well and their feeding and sleeping times fitted nicely with one another. I know for sure that this will not always be the case and I'm certain to face much tougher times ahead. For the moment, it has given me a buck up in the parenting side of my life.
Worst:
Without a doubt, the worst for this week was the earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was harrowing to witness the grief and devastation following the earthquake. Not only did the people of Christchurch cope with an earthquake in September '10 at 5am, they have had hundreds of tremors since. The problem with this recent earthquake was that it hit at lunchtime when many people were at work or were out and about. So many people lost in the one building and so much healing that needs to take place from here. My prayers go out to all the people of New Zealand and those who lost their lives (240 people, including a class of foreign language students) in the earthquake. Mother Nature works in mysterious ways. And for this this, she must be understood - not blamed - for the disasters across the globe.
