A Letter to the Queen

Dear Her Majesty,

I am writing this letter to wish you a happy birthday.  I hope you have had a lovely day and people have treated you 'like a queen'!  I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing Australia to share in this event by offering us a public holiday - aka 'a day off work'.  We blew the candles and cut the cake for you.

I am also writing this letter to thank you for allowing me to spend some time with my family down at the beach over your long weekend birthday.  As you can see from the enclosed photographs, Emily and Amaya had a lovely time picking their nana's flowers and creating a stunning design on the front lawn.  Without your birthday holiday they would not have had this opportunity.

With that said, and the pleasantries aside, I really want to get to the nub of my letter ... I think it's about time Australia cut its ties with England.  Gone are the convict days.  Gone are the early settlers.  Gone is our total reliance on British law.  But never will I forget your invasion and murder of the native people of this land.  I'm ashamed of the actions of my fellow kin.  And the longer Australia keeps the umbilical cord unsnipped with England, the longer we condone this part of our history.

Australia should be a republic.  I couldn't give two hoots about the Commonwealth Games.  You Your Majesty, obviously didn't care too much about the Olympics in Sydney.  The Constitution will only have to be modified in language.  I don't care about the rite of passage that some Australians have purely because of their parents' country of birth.  As for the Royals, it is of no interest to me whom Prince William takes between his sheets.  Or how his mother was a good and genuine person, even though it's widely acknowledged in England how much she was actually despised before your death.  I simply do not care.  It's about time Australia learnt to be Australia, and not the sister of England.

Anyway, why do we celebrate your birthday in June, when in actual fact your birthday is on 21st April?   It's all a farce.  Much like the relationship between England and Australia.  Be gone with you.  And why I'm at it, be gone with the emblazened union of crosses on our flag - it's an insult to very first people who walked this land.

Thanks for your time.  I look forward to your response - even though I know very well that this letter will only be read by one of your hundreds of servants whose sole job it is is to answer the door when the postman arrives.

Hahahahahaha....I can hear you saying these words as I read them....I know you felt much better after!!!!

I too am ashamed of the invasion of this land, and couldn't give a stuff whom William, Harry or Charles for that matter is shagging....or not shagging.

My heart is now in Australia....and never will I reside in the UK again....however.....I do love to watch the Commonwealth Games....and I did support Australia and England in the World Cup. I make no appologies for this my sister.

I love you XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
