Best/Worst

BEST:

I managed to get away for a couple of days.  Remy and I went down to my parents' beach house to spend some time with them before they travel overseas.  Not only was it good to spend some solo time with Remy to work out her tired and hunger signs, but it was also good to be with my parents.  Sometimes when you become a parent yourself, you lose sight of the relationship you once had with your parents - without children around (particularly those children that can talk and walk!).  Maybe parents feels a little replaced, or disconnected? I think it's still like nurturing an important friendship.

WORST:

Not all will understand my worst for this week ... my 750ml water bottle leaked in my Crumpler.  Not only this, but it wet my entire diary and writing book.  Everything was wet, wet, wet.  My pages are smudged and crinkled.  My writing book practically snapped in half and I had to buy another one.  My love of stationery is altogether something else - really!

What were your best/worst for the week?  Gaining insight into each others' worlds helps us to understand one another better.  I love reading them! xo

We loved our special time with our two girls. Most of all enjoyed my special time with Remy feeding and looking after her and just getting to know her. Reminded me of years gone bye when my children were once babies

I am sitting at my sister's computer, feeling empty as my sister, brother and I throw away boxes of pictures my parents have stored for the past 80 years. We select out images which have meaning to each of us but there are literally thousands which have captured the world seen through their eyes which I know nothing about. It's sad to think about what I've missed by not sharing their space for so much of the last 37 years.

On the other hand, what amazing stories my sister and brother have shared this week. I don't want to leave but I'm desperate to get back to my family in Australia. Life sure throws us some 'curve balls'. Love your posts, Shan.

Oh Brenda, I am so sorry for you loss. I know that your mum was unwell. It must be difficult to live on the opposite side of the world - away from your family. At least when you are together you do not take the time for granted. Thinking of you and Craig. Love, Shan xo

I love this photo of Remy - she looks like she's SOOO happy!

W - Losing our precious little pussy cat Zoe :( Poor Zaccy Boy - while she was alive, he took her (and her head licking) for granted, but now that she's gone, he seems lost without her :(

B - Getting back into my sewing - I am so motivated to improve my skills.
