Best/Worst

(Amaya is into having her hair washed, plaited and then curly the next day.  Ah, the joys of summer and hours spent at the beach)

I know that I've lost a week with the birth of Remy and our stay in hospital, but the best and worst of that week was the delivery of Remy.  I'm still traumatised by the c-section.  When Luke and I finally had a chance to sit and have a chat, I broke down.  But, that's for another blog entry.

Nonetheless, here is the best/worst in my life for this week:

Best:

Hands down, the best for this week was having Remy signed out of Special Care and bringing her home with us.  Upon her arrival she was quickly whisked away and many tests were undertaken.  I was only able to hold her for two minutes, at the most.  Then, I didn't get to see her again for another 24 hours.  It was so tough and I cried many tears alone in my hospital bed.  But after a couple of days in Special Care, she was doing much better than anyone could have expected.  And to our surprise, she was even allowed to come home with us.  To have that little girl in my arms was all I could ask.

Worst:

The worst for the week was not being able to move back into our home.  We are currently having our house renovated and one of these renovations is having the floorboards sanded and polished.  Whilst Luke's parents were amazing and so helpful and understanding during our stay at their house, there is nothing like home.  It was tough to be away from home and have my girls living out of suitcases and not in their beds, but we made it ... eventually.

What was your best/worst for the week?  I love reading them!

Having a night out in the city with some girlfriends - we drank lots of Vodka and partied in the Casino and then stayed in a hotel. We also escaped the next day having got back the room deposit, even though we admitted to eating some of the munchies from the mini bar. No credit card details left....just a conversation that dragged on with the hotel receptionist which obviously confused the issue. Bonus!!!!!

A semi best was speaking to one of my oldest friends from England today. We try to talk regularly, but have missed speaking to each other for a few months due to the time changes and work. It was fantastic to speak to Mandy again today and make her laugh as she lost her father just before Christmas this year and so things have been tough for her and her family...especially her mother.

Laying turf in the 40 degree heat!!!! It so needed to be done....but when I ordered the turf I had no idea it would come of such a blistering hot day. Pleased with the results... but I had to do it alone because Josh was at work....it nearly killed me!
