Emily, at 'This Family Squish' in my blog list, played this game on her blog. I decided to play along too and requested a letter. I found the game very challenging, and it took me some time to come to this blog as an end result.
The rules are as follows:
If you too want to play, leave a comment on this post letting my know and I'll assign you a letter. You must write 10 things that you love that begin with your assigned letter and post it on your blog.
Obviously, my letter was 'G'.
GYM
I actually have a love-hate relationship with this word. Some times I drag myself there, feel like I may spew once-in-a-while on the treadmill, wonder why I put myself through the exertion, but I always leave feeling totally proud of my efforts.
GOD
The means by which I gain strength and comfort. God is all-loving. How can one not love him in return? Sure, it's easy to question his ways, but the power of prayer and the blessing of having a healthy child and loved ones still present in my life are all actions of a greater force.
GIRL TIME
Girl time is a necessary ingredient for a happy life, in particular a happy life for me. When I had my child I was determined to maintain my special female relationships. No one understands you like a girlfriend.
GOALS
I love setting goals. In all honesty, some times I become overwhelmed with the busyness of life that I fail to achieve all my goals, but I know that they're there for me to return to at any stage. My dear girlfriends, Al and Brooke K, and I, set goals each week. We learn so much from one another.
GRAMMAR
Everyone knows how particular I am with grammar. Many people comment to me that when they send me an email, or even a text message, they are always concerned about their grammar and their spelling.
GIN AND TONIC WITH A SLICE OF LEMON
One of my all time favourite summer drinks. Just enough zing to get me zanged and just enough quench to keep me cool.
GRAPES
Another summer favourite, and certainly one of my daughter's favourite fruits. She smashes them into her mouth like she'll never be able to eat them again.
GRANDPARENTS
Such a special relationship. I'm so pleased that Amaya has the opportunity to get to know all her grandparents. The things I remember most about my nana are: ham sandwiches, cup cakes, mo-mo dresses, find-a-words, Safeways, and rock cakes. And of course, her massive breasts, which I have managed to not escape in my own genes.
GAINING CONTROL
I feel at my happiest when I feel my life is under control. That includes everything in my life: house, work, weight, exercise, pimples, organisation, ironing - the list could go on. So 'gaining control' on a constant basis is a very important part of my life. I become an emotional wreck when everything is a mishmash.
GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP
Though I don't require a great deal of sleep, a good night's sleep is vital to my wellbeing and arthritis the next day. If I only manage to get a few hours, or a night of interrupted sleep, my body is a complete train wreck the next day.
