Our back lawn now looks like this (above - excuse the sand and the neighbour's fence. That's next on our list).
Our back lawn once looked like this (below - check out how young Amaya is).
Our house is under constant renovations. It is old - late 1920s - and when we bought it in 2005 it was in need of a great deal of renovations. So far, we have: a new roof; new floorboards throughout; plastic blinded balcony; water tank; grey water; painted main bedroom; re-hosited front because it was sinking; roman blinds; new garden beds; and of course, a new backyard with lawn and a vegetable patch.
Since Amaya's birth in August 2007, the backyard was put on the back burner. It's only now that she is walking do we understand the need for safe outdoor space. And, the fact that Christmas will be held at our house this year. With a number of younger cousins there was no doubt that we will be in need of play room.
We couldn't have to got to this place with our backyard without the assistance of my father and Luke's older brother, Josh - and of course, all the women who babysat the children. They have all worked hard and on many occasions, through the rain, in order to reach the end goal. When Luke and I now look out our backdoor, we are welcomed with a sight of lush green, as opposed to the ever increasing brown mountain.
Thank you to all for your assistance. xo

it looks great! isn't it fun?!?! (well, not the actual work part, but the final product!) did i ever tell you that my older brothers' names are Luke and Josh???
I have a theory. House maintenance is one of those things where it is easier to do a little bit each week rather than a massive blitz, but where is the time? Luke xo
Love the new backyard, all the hard work and effort has paid off. Luke, you've done a fantastic job!
Can't wait for my holidays and I will update my house blog and announce it to the world... I promise :)
