For the past five years I have been unable to celebrate Cup Day due to my arduous Law degree. On Cup Day I was usually cramming for exams, or, sitting an exam! I did not even stop studying to watch the 3.00pm race. This Cup Day, 2007, I was determined to celebrate - and celebrate I did!
My effervescent British friend, and fellow colleague, Lynda, held a Cup BBQ. In racing tradition, we wore hats and dressed like ladies. And also in racing tradition, we drank. We drank many, many cosmopolitans. This is our drink of the moment because it fails to give us hangovers the next day - must be something to do with all the vitamins in the cranberry juice! (Note: all ladies turned up to work the next day!) It's also our drink of the moment because we like to think we are the ladies from 'Sex and the City'!
And whilst I didn't win any money, I had a most enjoyable time. Even Amaya, the socialite that she is, had a great time. She loves to be around people and dance (well ... kick her legs) to the music. That very night she slept from 10.30pm - 6.00am - or maybe I was too zonked to hear the whimpers!? (Just joking. A mother, and as I now know, can always hear her child's cry.)

hooray! i'm happy to read another post from you... i was beginning to worry! it sounds like we'd get along swimmingly... i, too, like to think that i'm a lady from 'sex in the city' (only about 30 baby pounds heavier, i am sure!!!) i'm so jealous, that amaya slept from 10:30pm until 6am?!?! what's your secret? looks like you're doing well. with love!
I love to see my ladies smile; yes Amaya is smiling, but behind the dummy! It was a fun day to see my lovely wife and all the other women slowly creep towards inebriation….. A fun day was had by all. And for the first time I saw Amaya getting on down. No boys so I was relieved.. Keep up the great Blog Shan – more entries please!

Speaking of 'sex in the city' - I notice you have not devoted a blog spot to our little jaunt to sexpo.... if that isnt sex in the city then I dont know what is?? Aside from the peep show and the pole dancing, a great deal of fun was had exploring the gadget stalls and admiring a live sex show in silloette!
As ever Charlie, I know you can always be relied upon to act like a giggly teenager with me! Lets never really grow up
